Hong Kong: 30-year-old female with H1N1 dies

Hong Kong--The Hospital Authority today (December 23) announced a fatal case of human swine influenza (HSI):

A 30-year-old female patient with good past health attended the Accident and Emergency Department of Queen Mary Hospital on December 19 due to fever and cough. She was admitted to isolation ward and prescribed with Tamiflu and antibiotics on the same day. Positive result of HSI was confirmed on December 20. The condition of the patient deteriorated and she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit on December 21 and requires ventilation support. The patient was certified dead today (December 23) at 1.36pm. The hospital would like to express condolences to the patient's family. The case was reported to Hospital Authority Head Office and Centre for Health Protection.
