Hong Kong: 41-year-old male with H1N1 in critical condition

Hong Kong--The Hospital Authority today (December 18) announced a a new critical case of human swine influenza (HSI):

A 41-year-old male patient with end-stage renal failure attended the Accident and Emergency Department of Prince of Wales Hospital on December 16 due to fever and cough. He was admitted into the isolation ward and positive result of HSI was confirmed on the same day. Tamiflu and antibiotics were prescribed. His condition deteriorated and he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit yesterday. He is now in critical condition and requires ventilation support. The hospital will continue to closely monitor his condition.
