Hong Kong: 59-year-old female with H1N1 in critical condition

Hong Kong--The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
A Kwong Wah Hospital (KWH) spokesperson made the following announcement regarding a new case of critical human swine influenza patient today (December 16):

A 59-year-old female patient with good past health was admitted to the Medical ward of KWH on December 7 and was transferred to Neurosurgical ward for Acute Subarachnoid Haemorrhage with headache the same day. She was presented with flu symptoms since December 12. Her condition continued to deteriorate and she was transferred to intensive care unit on December 14. The test result for human swine influenza was confirmed positive yesterday (December 15). She was prescribed with Tamiflu and antibiotics. She is in critical condition and requires ventilation support. The hospital is closely monitoring her condition.
