Brinsmead (Cairns) – single vehicle rollover
Paramedics and firefighters attend a single vehicle rollover on the corner of Brinsmead Road and Loridan Drive in Brinsmead around 12.15am. Crews arrived to find a 23-year-old woman inside the vehicle. Firefighters worked to free the woman before paramedics treated her for severe head injuries. The woman was transported to Cairns Base Hospital in a serious condition. A male who had also been travelling in the vehicle was not injured in the crash.
Thagoona (west of Ipswich) – shed fire
A shed housing mechanical equipment caught fire on Thagoona Haigslea Road around 7.30pm. The 12m X 12m structure was well alight when two fire crews arrived. Firefighters brought the fire under control around 8.10pm but the shed was significantly damaged. No one was injured as a result of the blaze.
Yeppoon – shed fire
Two fire crews responded to a boat shed fire on the Scenic Highway at Yeppoon around 4.15am. The 10m X 10m timber shed was well alight when crews arrived. Firefighters brought the blaze under control around 4.30am and fire investigators will attend the scene today to determine the cause of the fire. No one was injured as a result of the blaze.
