West Midlands | Pedestrian seriously injured in RTC in Wolverhampton

A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital following a road traffic collision in Wolverhampton this afternoon.

The incident occurred on Tettenhall Road, Tettenhall, at around 2.30pm.  An ambulance, an incident support officer, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle together with the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a pedestrian had been in collision with a car.  The man, believed to be in his seventies, suffered a potentially serious head injury.

“The patient received emergency treatment at the scene and was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further assessment and treatment..

“The air ambulance landed at the nearby Metchley Park playing fields.”
