Calgary | Firefighters rescue two dogs from house fire

4300 block 37 Ave SW | 27 April 2012

Earlier this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire in the 4300 block of 37 Ave SW. Fire crews attacked the fire quickly, containing it to the room of origin.
An active smoke alarm had alerted the resident of the home to the fire and he escaped without injury. Two dogs were rescued by fire crews from the basement of the home.
Cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Calgary Fire Department reminds all Calgarians of the importance of working and properly maintained smoke alarms to alert you of fire in the early stages of burning. Having an alarm and reacting to it prudently saves lives.
