_Emergency Management Academy of New Zealand

Emergency Management Australia Institute (EMAI)

Global Information Networks in Education GINIE has developed, in participation with professionals in the field, an Internet-based network with the following capacities: web pages that with a click of a mouse, can provide rapid access to full-text documents that users can review, save to disk or print; web pages that provide organized links to GINIE partner and associate sites, as well as other high quality links to content related to education in nations in crisis and at risk; an on-line searchable database which focuses on documents and materials created by education professionals working internationally; uploadable website-based document transfer protocols which allow field professionals to conveniently send their materials to the GINIE database; on-line conferences on topics requested by field professionals designed around specific themes to encourage professional collaboration and contribution to the GINIE database; secured websites that allow limited access to internal documents and dialogue for working groups; GINIE's mailing list that acts as an on-going information distribution system for busy professionals; and customized technical support and training for GINIE partners interested in learning how to use these capacities more effectively. http://www.ginie.org/

Moodle--Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. You can download and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a 50,000-student University. _Peaceworkers UK
Peaceworkers UK works to increase the quality of the civilian contribution to peacework by helping to set standards, design training modules and develop assessment tools. People In Aid is a global network of development and humanitarian assistance agencies. We help organisations whose goal is the relief of poverty and suffering to enhance the impact they make through better management and support of staff and volunteers.



RedR's work may be described under three main headings:

South African Qualifications Authorities (SAQA)
The South African Qualifications Authority is a body of 29 members appointed by the Ministers of Education and Labour. The members are nominated by identified national stakeholders in education and training. Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP), India
SSP began in 1989 as a self-education network facilitated by the Society for Promotion of Area Resource Centres, in rural Maharashtra and neighboring states. At this time, the collectives and NGOs in the learning network came together to evolve alternate strategies that sought to empower women's collectives around issues of livelihoods, credit, access to and management of resources in rural communities. SSP began working directly with women's groups and communities in the under-developed districts of Latur and Osmanabad in 1994.

_ United Nations Development Programme

As part of its focus on increased professionalism in local and international procurement, and in order to enhance local capacities, UNDP offers a variety of specialized training courses to staff of the UN system, the donor community, NGOs and governments. All courses are a balanced combination of lectures, case studies and workshops. The opportunity for peer-group interaction is also a crucial element of the courses. Best practice, trouble shooting and strategic thinking are key elements in all courses.
